    Prof. Dr. Şerif Mardin 1927 yılında İstanbul'da doğdu. Galatasaray Lisesi'nde başladığı orta öğrenimini ABD'de tamamladı. Stanford Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilimler Bölümü mezuniyetinden sonra Johns Hopkins, Columbia, California, Oxford ve Boğaziçi gibi seçkin üniversitelerde öğretim görevlisi olarak çalıştı. Hâlen Sabancı Üniversitesi'nde akademik çalışmalarını sürdüren ve tüm meşguliyetlerine rağmen söyleşi teklifimizi reddetmeyen Mardin ile Batı'ya ''çarpık'' bakışımız üzerine konuştuk.

    Deutscher Orientalistentag 2013'e katılmıştım ve açılış konuşmasında Alman Oryantalistlerin, İngiliz ve Fransız Oryantalistlere nispeten Doğu'ya farklı bir yerden baktıklarından bahsedilmişti. Zira Almanların kolonyal bir geçmişi yoktu ve Doğu'ya bakışları büyük ölçüde anlamak/bilmek içindi. Aynı çabayı mevcut şartlar altında Doğulu toplumların, özelde Müslümanların göstermesi mümkün mü?

    Bugünkü şartlar içinde cevaplandırması çok zor bir soru bu. Özellikle Müslümanların yaşadıkları coğrafyaların genişliğine ve çeşitlilğine baktığınız zaman bu zorluğu daha da iyi görebilirsiniz. Mesela, Amerika'da veya Avrupa'da yaşayan bir Müslüman'ın Batı'ya bakışı ile, örneğin bir Orta Doğu ülkesinde yaşayan Müslüman'ın bakışının birbirinden çok farklı olacağını düşünüyorum.
    Bu farklılığı doğuran sebepler farklı kültürel yetişme ortamları olabileceği gibi, farklı İslam anlayışları, Batı ile girilen değişik ilişkiler gibi birçok etken olabilir. Bunları açıklamadan meseleyi izah etmek mümkün gözükmüyor. Bu itibarla, bu meselenin daha spesifik şekilde ele alınmasının doğru olduğunu düşünüyorum.

    Oryantalizm'de merkezdeki kavram hayali bir Doğu idi. Bu ister kendisinden hareketle bir Doğu kurgulamak şeklinde olsun, ister Doğu'dan hareketle bir Batı kurgulamak şeklinde... Oksidentalizm'in merkezi kavramı olan Batı da aynı ölçüde hayali mi sizce?

    Bu soruya cevap verirken Türkiye açısından meseleyi ele almak istiyorum. Toplumda önemli bir kesimin bu şekilde hayali bir Batı anlayışı ile baktığını gösteren işaretler var. Mesela, Türkiye'de pek çok meselede Batı'yı mesul tutan kişilere sorsanız çoğu size Batı'nın sınırlarını gösteremez, çizemez. Yine aynı şekilde, Batı kim diye sorsanız ortaya net bir aktör koyamaz.

    Oksidentalizm, Oryantalizm'e kıyasla anlaşılmaya çalışılıyor. Bu da hâlihazırda maruz kaldığımız Batı'nın –zihni- kuşatıcılığının bir başka kanıtı sanırım. ''Doğulular'' bunun dışına/üstüne çıkıp orijinal bir şey söyleyebilir mi?

    Ben esasen Doğulular'ın hâlihazırda Batı hakkında Batı'nın paradigmasını aşan orijinal şeyler söylediklerine inanıyorum, çünkü bu işin tabiatı gereğidir. Doğu'nun kendi görüş açısı zaten çok temelli ve köklüdür.

    Siz, ''Türkiye'deki cari ''hungar Batı'' söylemi Edward Said'in yeterince ciddi analiz ve eleştiriye tâbi tutulmadan kabul görmesinden kaynaklanır...'' diyorsunuz. Gerçekten Batı'ya bu tarz bakış Said'den sonra mı gelişti Türkiye'de. Çok daha gerilere gitmiyor mu?

    Bu soruyu cevaplandırırken bu bakışın geliştiği farklı gruplara dikkat çekmek gerekiyor. Batı'ya açık olan bazı insanlarda Batı eleştirisi yoktu ama Batı'ya kapalı olanlarda vardı.

    Oksidentalist söylemin tıpkı Oryantalizm gibi analitik çalışmayı engelleyici, zararlı bir dışlayıcılığa sahip bir paradigma olduğu savunuluyor, kimi sosyal bilimcilerce... Ne dersiniz, Oksidentalizm dünyada olup bitenleri anlamak için bir engel midir?

    Gerek Oryantalizm'in gerekse Oksidentalizm'in birer hayal üzerine kurulmuş anlayışlar olduğunu düşünüyorum, "öyle imiş gibi" varsayımından çıktıklarını...
    Bununla birlikte, burada paradigma kavramının yanlış olduğunu düşünüyorum. Paradigma sert çerçeveleri olan bir şeydir. Burada ise iki tane hayalden bahsedilebilir ancak.

    Kendi toplumsal sorunlarımızı, dışarıda bir tür ''sorumlu avı''na çıkarak anlamaya, açıklamaya ve tabii çözmeye çalışan geniş bir kesim var. Ve bu sorumlu da genellikle ''Batı'' oluyor. İşin ilginç tarafı, Batı'yı yermek için başvurulan referanslar da yine Batı'da bulunuyor. Bu ''traji-komik'' durumun farkına varılmamasının sebepleri nelerdir sizce?

    Sorudaki tesbitlerinize katılıyorum ve bunun analitik yetersizlikten kaynaklandığını düşünüyorum.

    Mas,ala :- najaasate galeeza ka hukm yeh hai ki agar kapde ya badan me ek dirham se zyada lag jaye to uska paak karna farz hai agar be-paak kiye namaaz to hogi hi nahi aur agar jaanboojh kar pahhi to gunaah bhi hua aur agar istikhfaaf (halka samajhna) ki niyat se ki to kufr hai,
    aur agar dirham ke barabar hai to paak karna wajib hai agar be-paak kiye namaaz padhi to makroohe tahreemi hui yani aisi namaaz ka loutana wajib hai aur jaanboojh kar padhi to gunahgaar bhi hua agar dirham se kam hai to paak karna sunnat hai ki be-paak kiye namaaz ho gai lekin sunnat ke khilaaf hai aur uska loutana behtar hai,
    Mas,ala :- agar najaasat gaadhi hai jaise pakhane leeed ya gobar to dirham ke barabar ya kam ya zyada ke ma'ana yeh hai ki wajan me us ke barabar ya kam ya zyada ho aur dirham ho aur dirham ka wajan is jagah shariat me saadhe 4 maashe aur zakaat me 3 masha 1.5 (one half) ratti hai aur agar patli hai jaise aadmi ka peshab aur sharab to dirham se murad uski lambaai churhaai hai aur shariat ne uski miqdaar hatheli ke gahraai ke barabar bataai yani hatheli khub faila kar barbabar rakhe aur us par aahista se itna pani daalein ki us se zyada pani na rook sake ab pani ka jitna failaaw hai utna badha dirham samajha jaye aur uski miqdaar taqreeban yahan (India) ke rupye ke barbar hai.

    One cannot truly be a good Muslim unless he treats his parents and elders with respect by obeying them and speaking to them nicely. This applies even when one's parents are disbelievers. There are however, limits to obedience which have been set by Allaah. If parents ask their children to disobey Allaah, the children should not obey them.

    Es ist nicht erlaubt, dass man die Vergangenheit eines Bruders oder einer Schwester stets anspricht, sie bloßstellt und immer wieder vor anderen schlecht darstellt. Dies ist nicht vom Islam und trägt schlechtes mit sich. Allahul musta'an. Oftmals bringen jene Menschen mit einer schlechten Vergangenheit, die beste Zukunft hervor. Diese Geschwister mögen Taubah (Reue) bei Allah gezeigt haben, bist du im Qiyaam mit diesen Geschwistern ? Eventuell sind sie in der Nacht wach und bitten ihren Herrn, während du schläfst und die Belohnung Allahs 'verpennst'. Was lässt dich wissen, vielleicht machen sie Du'a, bitten Allah um Vergebung, während Er ihnen vergibt und ihnen Barmherzigkeit zeigt, erzählst du schlechtes über sie und bist hartherzig.

    Es wird dir hinterher nicht besser gehen, nur weil du in den Augen der Menschen als gut angesehen wirst, während dein Bruder rechts von dir, getadelt wird.
    Wenn du bei Allah schlecht bist, bringt dir das Lob der Menschen nichts. Für Allah mag dieser Bruder eventuell sogar lieber sein, als du es bist. Was lässt es dich wissen? Allein diese Ungewissheit, müsste dich davon abbringen, schlecht von deinem Bruder oder Schwester zu denken. Der Mensch begeht soviele Sünden, wie nimmt man sich also das Recht, über andere Muslime zu urteilen, sie zu kritisieren und hinterher sie zu erniedrigen ?!
    Dies ist wirklich eine abscheuliche

    Sunnis

    There is unanimous agreement among them regarding its authenticity, and its text being safeguarded from any additions or deletions. The Qur'an is to be understood in consonance with the rules and bases of the Arabic language. They believe in every single letter of it, it being the word of Allah the Exalted. The Qur'an is neither temporal nor newly created, but is eternal. Falsehood does not approach it from before it or behind it. It is the primary source of all the Muslims' tenets of faith, their rites and rules of conduct.

    Shi'ites

    To some of them, the Qur'an's authenticity is doubtful, and if it appears to contradict any of their sectarian beliefs or doctrines, then they give the Qur'anic text strange, far-fetched interpretations that agree with their sectarian views. For that reason they are called Al-Mutawwilah (those who give their own interpretations to the revealed texts). They love to draw attention to the discord that occurred at the time when the Qur'an was first compiled. The views and opinions of their Imams are the primary source of their jurisprudence.

    Afwan, ich glaube die Frage ist hier eig falsch Allahu alam, aber ich würde gerne wissen wie ihr handeln würdet inschaAllah. Man weiß jaa nicht was einem auf den Weg trifft und viele Menschen nehmen sich einfach so das Leben, weil sie nicht weiter wissen. Es kann sein, dass wir eines Tages diese Situation erleben werden. Und ich möchte gerne von euch etwas hören.



    Was würdet ihr einer Person sagen (eure letzten Worte), die gerade von einer Brücke springen und sein /ihr Leben beeenden möchte? (die Person ist Atheist)

    Würdest du sie retten? Welchen Vers würdest du ihr ans Herz legen?

    Da die Person scheint ihren Sinn des Lebens verloren zu haben, was würdest du ihr raten? und und und...

    Der Islam wurde bekämpft, weil er die Macht anstrebt, in jedem Bereich zu herrschen und alle anderen Gesetzgebungen negiert.

    Der Islam besteht nicht nur aus dem Gebet und dem restlichen spirutellen Angelegenheiten. Deshalb wurde der Islam auch nicht bekämpft die Quraish kammen mit einem Angebot undzwar sie wollten Allah als Gottheit mit zu den anderen zählen und es tolerieren für sie war es kein Problem einen weiteren Gott in ihre abscheuliche Sammlung aufzunehmen, den man anbeten konnte, doch La ilaha illallah lehnt alle anderen Gottheiten ab und strebt, wie schon gesagt, die Macht an,genau deshalb wurde der Islam bekämpft, weil es nicht nur spirituell ist, sondern eine Lebensordnung ist, die alle anderen Lebensanschauungen ablehnt und nicht kompromissbereit ist.

    Allah sollten wir fürchten, Seinen wunderbaren Deen nur auf das Spirituelle zu beschränken und somit es bildlich zu degradieren!

    One thing we hear alot from these feminists and modernists is equality. In actual fact equality does not equal justice. Justice is putting the correct thing in its proper place. Equality is about the same thing for everyone regardless of whether it is correct or not.

    Equality dictates that we speak to all ages the same way. Justice sees us speak to people at their own level of understanding....

    Equality sees men and women as equal.
    Justice sees them as having specific strengths and weaknesses and complementing each other.

    Equality sees every man as equal.
    Justice sees the scholar given precedence over the layman.

    Equality is often a precursor to injustice and wrongdoing where people are given that which doesn't suit them or denied that which they are deserving of.

    Ultimately justice is what we should aim for, and our Creator has detailed what justice is in the Qur'an and Sunnah."

    بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

    Some verses of the Quran about the Companions (Sahaba) of Prophet (saw), especially the Muhajirin (emigrants) and Ansar (helpers).

    [003:195] And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them: "Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: Ye are members, one of another:Those who have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or been slain,- verily, indeed I shall wipe out their evil deeds from them, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;- A reward from the presence of God, and from His presence is the best of rewards."

    Does it include Ali? It is impossible as per Shia beliefs because according to Shias, he is infallible and doesn't have evil deeds. So who are they?

    [008:072]Those who believed, and adopted exile, and fought for the Faith,with their propertyand their persons, in the cause of God, as well as those who gave (them) asylum and aid,- these are (all) friends and protectors, one of another. As to those who believed but came not into exile, ye owe no duty of protection to them until they come into exile; but if they seek your aid in religion, it is your duty to help them, except against a people with whom ye have a treaty of mutual alliance. And (remember) God seeth all that ye do.

    Who fought with their property, besides by their selves?

    [008:074]Those who believe, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith, in the cause of God as well as those who give (them) asylum and aid,- these are (all) in very truth the Believers: for them is the forgiveness of sins and a provision most generous.

    Of course who can be better believers than those people. The Shia think they are the ones?

    [008:075] And those who accept Faith subsequently, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith in your company,-they are of you. But kindred by blood have prior rights against each other in the Book of God. Verily God is well-acquainted with all things.

    "Hussain is from me and I am from Hussain". And what about these people?

    [009:020] Those who believe, and suffer exile and strive with might and main, in God's cause,with their goods and their persons, have the highest rank in the sight of God: they are the people who will achieve (salvation).

    Those who fought with their goods were special people. It doesn't include Ali, Abu Dharr, Salman, Ammar and Bilal They were other than these great sahaba. Who were they?

    [016:041]To those who leave their homes in the cause of God, after suffering oppression,- We will assuredly give a goodly home in this world; but truly the reward of the Hereafter will be greater. If they only realised (this)!

    Who suffered oppression?

    [016:110] But verily thy Lord,-to those who leave their homes after trials and persecutions,- and who thereafter strive and fight for the faith and patiently persevere,- Thy Lord, after all this is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

    Who suffered persecution?

    [022:039] To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, God is most powerful for their aid;-

    [022:040] (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "our Lord is God" ...

    Indeed, they were expelled only due to Islam and they were oppressed.

    Gepriesen sei Allah. Ich kenne nichts darüber, auch wenn das Aufheben
    des Mushafs mit der rechten Hand besser
    ist. Die rechte Hand wird... in allen Fällen bevorzugt und der Prophet
