    What happened exactly is that Muslims disagreed who to be the successor after prophet since prophet has never appointed anyone.

    But it took no more than an hour of arguments to entrust Abu Bakr and put an end to that argument .

    And it moved on smoothly until the murder of the 3rd Caliph Uthman (r.a) ,and entrusting Ali(r.a) as the 4th Caliph after Uthman (r.a).

    Here another chapter started with serious division to 4 big political parties.But as religious status ; all are identical muslims to the elementary details.

    1_Quraish led by by (Al Zubair) and (Talha) to pursue the murderer of Uthman for Ali(r.a) showed no serious plan to pursue them .

    2_ Ali(r.a) and His Allies ( people of Kufa) .

    3_ Muawiya and His allies ( People of Syria ).

    4_ Egyptians who refused to pledged allegiance to Ali(r.a) for the mysterious silence of Ali towards the murderers of Uthman.
